Hey there Draught House. Thanks for fucking us up pretty good last night at the Austinist Happy Hour. Hell, thanks for letting us have it at your crib. Just wanted to give you a quick shout-out, and lay out some items here for your consideration. If we didn’t love you, we wouldn’t be writing about it while hung over (on our lunch break, instead of napping)! Sweet!

It may only be Monday, but we’re already thinking about the weekend. So, to kick it off in true Austinist style, why not join us this Thursday for another one of our (in)famous Happy Hours?
Doesn't that drink look yummy? Or at least cold? You know how hot it will be in your car, on the way home from work. Why not take a short trip to the South Congress Cafe Beer Garden? You can wait out the traffic with our good looking contributors and a cold drink in hand. Let's not forget sparkling conversation.
Last month, NPR's Ken Tucker pitted two albums side-by-side for comparison: one was Coldplay's third album X & Y; the other was Electrified, by the Denver indie-pop band Dressy Bessy. After challenging the earnestness of Chris Martin's sappy vocals, Tucker goes on to glow about Tammy Ealom - Dressy Bessy's lead singer - praising her tone for being "every bit as knowledgable about the vagaries of love and lost and so much more varied...
Boy howdy, is it hot outside. Hot enough to melt the face off a snake! Hot! And, do you know what snake-face-melting heat goes well with? Alcohol! That's right! Drinking! We'd like to invite you to our third official happy hour, this Thursday at The Longbranch Inn on East 11th Street. We'll start showing up around 5, and we'll hang out until we can no longer see straight. Come on down and meet our...
Howdy Austinist readers and fans! First off, we love you, and probably more than is appropriate. Certainly this is true of our infamous editor, if not all of the Austinist contributors. Austinist digresses.... This Thursday we are having an Austinist Happy Hour at the new Opal Divine's Penn Field location off of South Congress. If it ends up like the last happy hour, you can be sure Austinist will be practicing our gymnastic abilities on...
We've been a really good Austinist this week and kept you updated on all the events of this weekend. But we thought we'd be really, good and remind you about all of them:
You have three things to do today.
Full skirts aren’t the only thing that’s back this season. Check out the latest trend for spring: the house party. Not to be outdone by the raging success of the Spin/Wayward Boys party during SXSW, Austin band 54 Seconds is throwing a little shindig of their own. This party kicks off this Friday at 4506 Avenue H in post-grad haven, Hyde Park. We know you’ll be a little late since you’ll be on E. 11th with us at our first Austinist Happy Hour, but you have time to make a set by Austin darling, Tucker Livingston, at 8:30 p.m. 54 Seconds goes on at 9:15 and Good Nation spins from 11 on. It’s a free show, but BYOB. The band will be filming a live DVD at the party, so don’t forget to wear that new skirt.
Singer-songwriter Glen Phillips first burst onto the music scene in the 90's as the lead singer of Toad the Wet Sprocket, a group of four guys from the laid-back, sun-drenched California beachside town of Santa Barbara. Remember "All I Want" or "Come Down"? After Toad broke up in 1998, Phillips went on to a fairly promising solo career, releasing in 2001 the highly acclaimed Abulum. This album was largely a reminiscence of days long...
