We couldn't be more excited about this year's Fusebox Festival, which kicks off with a bang on Wednesday, with two hundred Texas Two Steppers dancing on the steps of the capitol. Throughout the festival, The United States Art Authority will serve as Fusebox's late night headquarters, with opportunities for festival attendees to meet artists, discuss the amazing performances they've seen, hear about incredible performances to come, and shake their booties. The movers and shakers at Art Seen Alliance, Monofonus Press, Rampant Arts and the Church of the Friendly Ghost have teamed up to schedule nightly entertainment for Wednesday, April 21st through Saturday, May 1st. The stellar and diverse lineup includes performances from the Asylum Street Spankers, Brazos, Bodytronix, and everyone in between.
Austinist just received permission to leek the full Fusebox Festival Late Night Lineup - follow this post after the jump see 'em all.

As we approach that inane holiday Monday (Columbus Day) and prepare to "celebrate" the "discovery of our country" in 1492, we felt it would be appropriate to revel in this little bit of musical comedy irreverence about that war we were lied into and the disingenuous way in which some people celebrate their patriotism/absolve their guilt.

Dude…Seriously, it’s 4/20 all day.
And a very happy 4/20 to all of you, indeed. For those of you who are too mature (or too “uncool”) to know what we are talking about, today is the day when stoners of the world unite to celebrate the unofficial marijuana holiday. Urban myths abound about why marijuana smokers refer to 4:20 as the international pot-smoking hour. Some believe the number relates to the California police code for a marijuana bust; others say it is the California penal code for a marijuana bust; some proffer that it bears a relationship to the day Jim Morrison died; while others simply believe that 420 represents the number of chemicals in marijuana (though we are pretty sure THC is the important one).
