Seattlest watches as a S.L.U.T. is born and Seattle Flickr users go nuts over a local art installation. A restaurant critic demands a Diner's Bill of Rights over a gnat next to her drink, and, in lieu of a Portlandist, Seattlest debates with itself over the identity of the Northwest's crown jewel. Seattlest also joins the guys from Fantagraphics for an ill-fated gun party in the woods. Bostonist got a crash course in what not...

Seth MacFarlane, the brains behind the greatest cartoon TV series since The Simpsons (Family Guy and its not-so-funny counterpart, American Dad), will be coming to UT campus next Friday, April 13th to give a lecture on lord knows what. The Emmy Award-winner is not only the creator, director and executive producer of the above, he's also the voice of many animated characters--lending his voice to partners in the genre, Robot Chicken, Crank Yankers and...

Between fake terrorist alerts and scandals big and small, this just might be the Best Best of the -ists ever. We're exhausted just thinking about it. First up, SFist, who saw their little 'ole site be the center of what was a nice little scandal (even getting their editor on TV) only to find their scandal dwarfed by the even bigger scandal caused by their Mayor boffing one of his aides' wife. We're not...

UPDATE: We found the video of Sean Stevens and Peter Berdovsky placing the "fake bombs" around Boston. Plus, the bidding war reached a little over $5,000 before the item was removed from Ebay. The stunt that brought Boston police and transportation its biggest scare since 9/11 yesterday was one Austin is very familiar with. Bostonist has all the coverage. Pictured above, this LED-lit advertisement stood over South Congress just north of Oltorf for more...

Aqua Teen Hungerforce is one of our favorite late-night TV shows. Cartoon Network's trippy and witty antics of fast food products living in the suburbs of New Jersey has been entertaining inebriated viewers since Adult Swim's debut. One of the signature artists in Adult Swim's motley crew of hip-hop contributers is DJ Spooky, who penned theme songs and more for these cult cartoon favorites. Hailing from Washington D.C. and armed with a degree in...

This Thursday, as part of their ongoing "Best of the AFF" series, the Austin Film Festival and Chicken Ranch Records are screening "Stomp! Shout! Scream!," the beach-party-rock-and-roll-monster-movie by Jay Edwards, the guy behind Aqua Teen Hunger Force. They're billing it as a beach party screening extravaganza, replete with a beach party-themed menu and a bunch of sweet prizes and giveaways. Chicken Ranch records will be on hand to celebrate the release of the film's soundtrack and Troy Dillinger, of [austin swim] fame, will host the pre-show entertainment.

MC Chris, who you may know as the voice of Hesh on adultswim's Sea Lab, or the voice of MC Peepants on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, will be performing live at Emo's tonight. MC Chris performed at our house* during SXSW, and has since come back to play several sold out shows in Austin. Tickets are amazingly still available for tonight's show!

Do you have nothing better to do on the first Wednesday of the month than sit around with a bunch of fellow weirdos watching bizarre cartoons? Do you have a warped sense of humor and love talking-meatwads and hairy dudes from the Bronx? Do you think that MC Pee Pants is one of the baddest muthas on wax? Then we have just the place for you: Austin’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force Meet-Up goes down the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm.

Über-hipster magazine, VICE, has a surprisingly large presence at this years music convention. Their party schedule features Bloc Party, Death From Above, and the creators of [adult swim]'s Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
