File this under Things We Hate To Report. Justice, the four-month-old puppy who was found badly burned in Dallas two weeks ago, died over the weekend. Dallas police have issued a warrant for a person believed to be involved.

Waco Pygmy Goats Housed In Squalor Rescued
The creators of "vegan comfort food" at Counter Cafe made us aware of this story featuring the rescue of 25 malnourished goats in Waco who were initially housed in cramped quarters with the carcasses of other goats strewn about. The Sunny Day Farms Animal Sanctuary out of La Coste has posted some photos of the goats online, and are keeping us up to date as to their progress.
Austin Ranked Among Top Ten Dog-Friendliest Cities
Well, the title of this story pretty much says it all. Or, at least most of it. Men's Health magazine recently published a ranking of the top 50 dog-friendly cities in the country. Dear old Austin made the top ten, coming in at 7th place nationwide. Among the criteria that Men's Health considered were animal cruelty laws, the number of veterinarian clinics and the number of dog parks.

An employee of the Travis County sheriff’s department attacked a photojournalist yesterday after leaving a Williamson County court hearing for animal cruelty charges.
