AIDS Walk Austin Is Sunday

This Sunday, lace up your walking shoes and put your feet down to help stop the spread of HIV and provide care for our neighbors through AIDS Walk Austin. The Walk, which starts at 1:30 p.m. at Austin City Hall, is the annual community-wide awareness event and fundraiser for Austin’s AIDS service organizations, and is organized by AIDS Services of Austin. Wake Up Early This Sunday For AIDS Walk Austin

Mayor Wynn will kick off Sunday’s event at 9:30AM along with Emcee Lolis Garcia-Baab, host of the "The Ladies Room with Lolis" radio show. The 5K walk will begin at 10AM and is expected to draw 1,000 walkers and 100 teams. Portions of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display inside City Hall, including panels created in memory of Central Texas residents as well as Ricky Wilson, Freddie Mercury, Ryan White and Keith Haring, among others. more ›
