Happy Birthday, Home Slice
The dough throwers over at Home Slice Pizza have been serving up New York style slices from its South Congress location for three years now. And in what has become a birthday tradition the folks there are hosting a carnival on Saturday in celebration of the milestone.
Austin (Veggie) Bites: Clay Pit's New Menu Offerings
Clay Pit, the Indian food Valhalla on Guadalupe and 16th Street, has recently updated their menu, and all vegan items are now marked with a handy little "v" symbol, in addition to their substantial vegetarian offerings. While perhaps not the most authentic, their Indian dishes have nevertheless neatly filled a curry-shaped void in Austinites’ stomachs since 1998, and was called “one of the best Indian restaurants in the United States” by Bon Appetit magazine.

Austin Bites: Greenling Organic Delivery
There's something undeniably luxurious about delivered food. We're not about to pass up a pizza delivery, but we're talking local/organic (loganic?) revolution here. So, we were quasi-hardcore into the city's farmer's market scene, dabbling in it like the delicious gateway drug it is: first you get addicted to one particular item (gigantic glass bottles of local honey), and gradually venture out to the Triangle for some garlic and weird looking tomatoes. Next thing you know, you're waking up voluntarily on Saturdays to make it to the downtown market before it shuts.
