New Release Alert: BOY FRIEND - Egyptian Wrinkle

Who: Finally, we have a release date for the debut LP from BOY FRIEND, a duo composed of Christa Palazzolo and Sarah Brown out of fallout from Sleep Over. Hell, Yes! are releasing the Egyptian Wrinkle LP on February 6th on pink marble vinyl (limited to 1000 copies), as well as digitally and on CD.

What: If first single and title track “Egyptian Wrinkle” is any indication, BOY FRIEND work in an aesthetic that, like their old band, is pop-centric but also murky and gauzy and indistinct. However, the band also seems a little more forthright with their approach and delivery, maybe befitting a project from Palazzolo, who was once in the very overt Belaire. Then again once more, maybe the rest of the tracks on Egyptian Wrinkle are all lavender haze and dreamscape and atmosphere. Not sure.
