Transistor Six Powers Off At Frank Tonight [Show Preview]

Transistor Six is a local company with an old-school aesthetic but new-school aspirations. Inspired by the famous BBC Peel Sessions, the company is hosting its first session tonight at Frank where they'll 1.) record bands on an analog board 2.) film bands using Super 8 and 3.) photograph bands using a 35 mm Lomo.

The sessions will sometimes be open to the public, and will sometimes take place behind closed doors, but this inaugural show will feature Ume, Moonlight Towers and Heartless Bastards at Frank, and it's free and open for all. Founded by Cory Llewellyn and Daniel Northcutt (founder of Frank), the company explains their sessions are designed to capture new music through a classic filter: "It's a way to instill visual art into great bands and give a throw back nod to the way it used to be. For existing fans of a band, it's a platform to see your favorite band in a unique light. For bands, it a way to showcase themselves to existing fans and also a new audience with original content."

Also upcoming at Frank: Craig Finn and Will Johnson performing on the 10th.
