LGBT: Rainbow Yoga Comes to Austin
Austin's latest transplant, Catherine Luna has set up a yoga studio exclusively for the LGBT community. Catherine, who is also an artist, DJ, and amateur musician, was lured to Austin by the city's energy, excitement, and gay friendly environment.
An experienced yoga professional and energy healer, Catherine has also been featured on the TV series, “Great Yoga Teachers.” Self discovery and acceptance are major aspects of yoga and this inspired Catherine to open a studio that focuses on a community that often struggles with these issues. Based on her own life journey and the role yoga has played in it, Catherine saw this as an opportunity to make a difference. Her new endeavor provides a space for LGBT yogis to practice and talk comfortably, honestly, and naturally about their lives, struggles, and rewards.
With a maximum of four students in each class, every student receives special attention and has a great opportunity to meet new people. As the LGBT yoga community grows, Catherine looks forward to hosting get togethers and good times. No matter what level you may be at, Catherine offers classes that can be good fit for anyone. The fully equipped studio space is expertly concealed in a charming private home near the UT campus with free parking. All classes are $12 and are an hour and a half long. Be sure to check out her website for class descriptions and times.
