Back for its sixteenth year, the Texas Book Festival's lineup this year is packed with celebrities, award winners, and your new favorite writer(s). Announced this year is a Texas Book Festival "fast-pass" that you can purchase to bypass the long lines for, say, Alton Brown talking about broccoli. Can't remember if the "money = cutting in line" thing was worth it for people who really wanted to ride Splash Mountain - we'll see how it works at a book festival.
Among the many other authors: Meg Wolitzer, Molly Shannon, Laura Furman, Don Graham, Michael Ventura, Sarah Bird, Dana Priest, Dagoberto Gilb, Susan Orlean, Louis Sachar, Chuck Palahniuk, Chuck Klosterman, Sherry Matthews, and a whole lot more. Lawrence Wright and Stephen Harrigan will be honored with the Texas Writer Award, and Lisa Loeb will sing in the Children's Tent.
There's also the most extremely literate pub crawl ever to note, and we'll have more on that later. The art for this year's post will be contributed by Marc Burckhardt.
