Musical Relief, Or How To Rock Out And Help Fire Victims

Unsurprisingly, it didn't take much for this great city to come together to extend a helping hand to those who have suffered as a result of the wildfires. Here's a list of what's going on.

  • Shelley King, Wendy Colona, John Pointer, Mark Allen Atwood, The Chevelles, Ginger Leigh, Will Dunlap and more are performing at the Red Shed Tavern on September 11th. Admission is $15, and you're asked to "please bring non-perishable food items, clothing, kids toys, diapers, toiletries, etc."

  • Will Taylor and Strings Attached are running a benefit on the 10th at the Nutty Brown Cafe. The first part of the show will be a Sting/Police covers set, followed by performances from guests including Jon Dee Graham, John Pointer, Karen Mal, and more.

  • Also this weekend, all sales of Centro-Matic, South San Gabriel and related products will go to help the victims.

  • The Volstead is having an event at 5pm on Sunday, featuring The Greatcoats, Roxy Roca and more.

  • Red 7, The FFFFest Water Olympics, and Retro Rubbish are all taking donations for the victims.

  • Happening at ACL Live at the Moody Theater on the 12th and 14th - Rock For A Remedy, featuring performances by Santana and Michael Franti. Folks who donate "5 healthy non-perishables, case of water or $5 at the venue will be entered to win Signed Merchandise" from both musicians.

  • The money from the door at the Reckless Kelly show at Antone's on the 13th will go to victims.

  • Austin Powell's "Off The Record" column made us aware that Jonas Wilson and Jenny Gacy of White White Lights lost their residence and "the recording studio [Wilson] had constructed in a structure attached to his home. They have a page up for assistance.
  • More as we get more.
