ATX Antics At Elysium
If you're looking for a good way to support local arts and business this weekend, Secret Oktober's ATX Antics at Elysium should provide you with the perfect opportunity. Billed as a "A Local Music and Arts Festival," this one night event features a long list of local talent. However, perhaps the biggest name on the music side of things comes in the form of Jurgen Engler, front man for German industrial mainstays Die Krupps. He will be performing various Dir Krupps songs with the help of several Austin musicians, including Bradley Bills of CHANT, Alex Virlios of CTRL, and Steven Canham of Lucid Dementia.
The rest of the music bill contains several local electronic groups including Art vs. Industry, subNatural, Panjoma, and Destroyed for Comfort. Additionally, Reagan Jones of Iris will be performing, as well as Benjamin Londa and Nathan Hewitt of Exit. Meanwhile, the art of Andrew Shaw, dRew Madinc, and Russell S. will be on display. Punk internet station Stench Radio, Austin's own Backspin Records, and local zines Mixed Cohesion and Artstrada round out the festival as vendors.
Doors open tonight at 7 pm. Though the pre-sale has ended, the events site says that tickets to the event can be bought at the door at Elysium.
