Fight For Your Right To Parody With Lamebook.com, Flying Turns and Free Beer

The Lamebook.com boys have two reasons to celebrate. First off, they recently had a breakthrough in their legal battle against Facebook (who sued the parody site last year for “trademark infringement”) when Travis County Judge Sam Sparks straight-up denied Facebook's motion to dismiss. Lamebook is still fighting the good fight, though it hasn’t been cheap for the upstart humor site.

The second reason? They just launched a hilarious, new blog called UHpinions.com. The site features hilarious reviews from sites like Amazon, Yelp and Epinions and seems to be just as addictive as the owner’s original.

Starting at 6:00PM this Saturday at Shangri-La, come out for a party with the Lamebook Boys featuring DJ sets from Flying TurnsDJG, Iron Mike and BINK and…free beer. A key element at any Austin-based legal fundraiser. Which brings us to the “fund-raising” part: suggested donation is $5, which goes to make sure that sites like Lamebook and UHpinions can keep thumbing their nose at the man and making us laugh our asses off in the process for years to come. To wit, don’t be stingy-bring a few bucks for the boys.

So roll out to the East Side this Saturday evening, support a local business in an epic struggle to survive and raise a glass to to some very funny people. We’ll see you there.
