The team behind Austin Psych Fest has built a reputation for their selective showcases and epic parties and tonight is no different - they’ve prepared an all-star line up with members of The Dum Dum Girls and King Kahn’s BBQ Show as they celebrate the UFO Club/Night Beats split album release. Also on the bill is the premier performance of the UFO Club, the collaboration/side project of Lee Blackwell from Night Beats with Christian Bland from The Black Angels.
One half of the fuzzy, lo-fi, girl group The Dum Dum Girls will be headlining the outside stage as a guitar duo following sets by Mark Sultan (he puts the "BBQ" in King Kahn's Show) and Night Beats. It's hard to say exactly what The Girls have in store for show-goers, but with their self-proclaimed “blissed out buzz saw” sound, the LA-based band are bound to play hits from their well-received debut, I Will Be. Hopefully they'll also provide an expanded glimpse into their forthcoming release, Only In Dreams, set to drop next month.
At midnight the UFO Club take the stage inside followed by Psych Fest vets Shapes Have Fangs.
