For fans of Moby-type electronic eclectic indie-pop, RJD2 mixes together sampling, MCs, vocalists and more into an intriguing style all his own. His latest release The Colossus is his fourth solo album, now out on his on label RJ's Electrical Connections. RJD2 also holds the title of producer for artists such as MF DOOM and Copywrite, and has remixed songs from Aesop Rock to the Polyphonic Spree.

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, RJD2 is Ramble John Krohn. He started out spinning records in high school, which was followed by a stint as DJ for rap group MHz and then as a producer for El-P's Definitive Jux label. Making the switch to XL Records five years ago afforded him the opportunity for a stylistic evolution. His sound is now notably more mellow, but his DJ'ing skills remain top notch. At his live shows RJD2 spins selections from all of his projects and also creates new pieces on the fly, so there's sure to be something for every fan.

On Saturday, RJD2 will be joined by the California duo Almost Honest at The Belmont. Drew Orepeza and Justin Florence have been playing together since 2007 and now live in Hollywood. When asked what the band's name might signify, Orepeza responded that "it lies somewhere between the truth and a lie, a grey area that you can walk through with expression in music." With a laid-back easy sound that mixes pop and soul, Almost Honest should be a stellar open to the evening.
