The Queen: Our Favorite Homeless Transvestite Has a Birthday

Last night, Leslie Cochran celebrated 60 years with a large group of friends and Austin celebrities at Threadgill's. Over the years, Cochran has been a fixture of Austin culture, a political force (he placed second in the mayoral race ten years ago), and an advocate for the homeless around the world. His story is as colorful as he is, but no matter where he wanders, we're always glad he comes on back. Despite many health concerns in the last year, Cochran was all smiles on Wednesday night -- perhaps because the spotlight is about to get even brighter with the filming of a documentary about him that's happening presently.
