Republican Rep. Wayne Christian's Aide Charged With Felony in Hit and Run

Early this morning, 23 year old Gabrielle Jane Nestande (an aide to Rep. Christian) allegedly failed to stop and render aid after hitting a pedestrian with her vehicle in West Austin. YNN is reporting that she is now in custody and charged with the third degree felony crime. The pedestrian died on the street in front of a neighbor's house and was found just after 5 a.m. Officers on the scene found pieces of a vehicle on the ground, and police are now in possession of Nestande's vehicle as well. Nestande was commended yesterday on the floor of the legislature for her service. Anyone with information is asked to call the APD highway tip line at 512/974-4779.

I'm saddened that someone would infuse partisan politics into something so tragic. The bottom line is that the existence of 2 families is forever changed, and it has nothing to do with who voted for whom.

come on now. if this was a democratic rep this would likely not even be a story on here or at least the party lines would not be detailed in the first word of the title. and i am no republican supporter
