Visa Issues Keep Celso Piña Out of Pachanga

You can't put on a festival without having lots of things go haywire. Chaos in Tejas recently announced a few cancellations, and this Saturday's Pachanga festival has also been dealt with a programming blow - performer Celso Piña has had to cancel his appearance due to issues with he and his band obtaining working visas. A cumbia musician from Mexico, Piña has been releasing records under his name since the mid-nineties.

A very regretful message from his management reads in part: "We really want to perform in austin, because we know that is a city that apreciates good music, and Celso is seeking to play in front of this great audience, because even thou celso has perform in austin before, never in an event this magnitude, and latin-alternative oriented." Hopefully things will work out next year for Piña, and in the meantime, check out our facebook and twitter page for an opportunity to win tickets to this festival.
