"I Don't Have a Mane" CD Release/Austin Bat Cave Fundraiser!

The admirable nonprofit Austin Bat Cave, which is responsible both for awesome readings in town as well as for hosting amazing youth writing workshops, needs your help. ABC is celebrating the release of an inspired project where their students' poetry was chosen by local bands including Ghostland Observatory, Focus Group, Sunset, Leatherbag, Comanche Club, TV Torso, Crooks, Ringo Deathstarr, and Western Ghost House to turn into songs. They recorded those songs and the resulting album, I Don't Have a Mane, is having its coming out party Friday.

Select bands from the compilation will be performing at Mohawk this Friday the 13th from 9pm - 1am. It's free with a suggested donation, but they are probably hoping just to pack the place. And why shouldn't this pack Mohawk? Below, you can get a better idea of the project and just how awesome of an idea this collaboration between kids and bands [in this case, Crooks] is.
