Man Man at Emo's [Show Preview]
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the crazy crew from Man Man. Their theatrical performance will provide the perfect spectacle for your post-happy hour, margarita-mindset. With colorful stage names - Honus Honus, Sergei Sogay, Pow Pow, Critter Crat and Chang Wang - and painted faces, this five-piece from Philly will bring a smile to your face and a wiggle to your hips with their experimental, multi-instrumental show featuring clavinet, flute, trumpet, sousaphone, saxophone, French horn, marimba, euphonium, xylophone and random percussive instruments. Their unique production has been fittingly described as “Viking-vaudeville” and “manic Gypsy jazz.”
Following their performances at last year’s Fun Fun Fun Fest and this year’s SXSW showcase at Auditorium Shores, Man Man returns to town as they prepare to drop their fourth album, Life Fantastic, next week. Samples of the album are currently streaming on Man Man's official site. They’ll also be performing a sneak-peak of tonight’s show at an in-store this afternoon at Waterloo.
