The Rumors Are True: Navy SEAL Who Led Bin Laden Mission From Texas

We heard some rumors yesterday that the mastermind behind the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden had Texas ties, and today we can confirm. Vice Admiral William McRaven started his military journey in Texas, coming to the University of Texas from San Antonio. At UT, he was in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps, and he graduated with a degree in journalism in 1977. He then went on to SEAL training has spent a fascinating life learning, training and becoming something of a legend in the military. He's the same guy who commanded one of the teams involved in Saddam Hussein's capture in 2003.

    There were no Navy Seals there who captured Saddam. He did not command any "Team" on that mission because it was the 4th infantry division who caught him. I should know... I was there.
