Red Fly’s Thor: God of Thunder for the Wii
Today, Red Fly’s Wii version of the God of Asgard game hits shelves with a thunderous roar (hence the rain yesterday). The Austin developer gained full creative license (not just the job of tweaking the controls of a port) and they built it groundfloor-style. The Wii game uses decidedly more comic book influenced visuals and even features Matt Fraction’s steady hand, (Eisner Award-winning Thor comic book writer) as story consultant.
From what little preview coverage there has been on any versions of the game, Red Fly’s take has garnered better reviews than its hardware heavier competition (perhaps because the Wii-mote makes a better hammer). The nunchuck will come in handy on this game as well, when stringing together 200 hit combos against those impossible to pronounce boss-gods like Surtur or Ymir or playing the Wii exclusive flying levels. Look for it in stores today and hope your Nordic god powers will bring bigger storms than certain other ones.
