Music: Cut Copy + Holy Ghost Throw Two Massive Dance Parties
Fast forward two years, and Cut Copy are back, albeit with a slightly different sound. Longtime fans need not fret - if you dig upbeat Depeche Mode, New Order, and Duran Duran tunes, you're going to do just fine with tracks from 2011's Zonoscope. The album garnered a "Best New Music" nod from Pitchfork upon release, mainly due to the more cohesive, non-single based nature of the tracklist and the subtle Beach Boys and '70's rock influences that have crept in along with the more predictable dance elements.
The Stubb's show announced for Friday 4/22 sold out quickly, so promoters later added another date for tonight that still has tickets available - click the link at right to purchase. If you're still on the fence, click here to see Cut Copy destroy Coachella's dance tent earlier this month, or head to our archives for Austinist's 2009 interview with the band's Tim Hoey.
