Weekly Music Picks - Size and Scale

This week we have a string of ginormous, sold-out shows that you may be waiting with bated breath for the chance to experience, or you may not care at all and are just hoping to keep things on the DL. We have you covered either which way.

Monday:

Erm, it's a bit quiet tonight. The Austinist is competing in the Mind Over Music Trivia challenge, and it's also Passover, which means for some Austin residents it's all about horseradish over heinous rock and roll tonight.

Tuesday:

YACHT is performing at Emo's this evening, and Rise Against has a sold-out show at Stubb's with Bad Religion and more.

Wednesday:

OH, haha, it's 4/20. Dulce Vida tequila are offering free margaritas at 7pm for a Trailer Space show featuring The Golden Boys, Followed By Static, and Shawn David Mcmillen with the Mancat House Band. Rap happens at Red 7 with Das Racist, Zeale, and more, while The Psychedelic Furs play "Talk Talk Talk in its entirety & a set of their greatest hits" at Antone's. The Kills do La Zona Rosa, and A-Trak and Kid Sister visit Venue 222.

Thursday:

Nat Baldwin of the Dirty Projectors has a new solo album out called People Changes, and he'll be playing at Club 1808 with Spiked Punch and Hearts of Animals. Interpol plays the Austin Music Hall, and Cut Copy play their first in a series of back to back shows at Stubb's.

Friday:

Elvis celebrate the release of their new record at Trailer Space with the Nouns and Manikin at 7pm. Acid Mothers Temple and the Melting Paraiso UFO dock at Red7, and you can catch Yelle and the goofy/fun French Horn Rebellion at the Mohawk.

Saturday and Sunday:

On Saturday, Those Darlins hit the Mohawk for an early show (8pm), while Sleigh Bells and CSS will entertain a (yup) sold-out crowd at La Zona Rosa. Sunday turns quiet, but The Low Lows have a free show at Hole in the Wall - this band's wailing, slowcore fucked-up country tunes are highly recommended.
