DDC vs. Austin: Tall Tales From a Large Man
Thursday, April 7

Our friends at Public School reminded us that the Kickstarter account leveraged earlier to help get Aaron Draplin of Draplin Design Company to come speak in Austin paid off, and the big guy will be at Lewis Carnegie on Thursday evening.

If you contributed to the Kickstarter campaign, your entrance will be free. Otherwise, you'll be charged $10 at the door - a very reasonable price considering the incredible insight you're guaranteed to gain. Early attendees can also look for goodies at the door.

Draplin is perhaps best known for his design of Field Notes, but he's been operating Draplin Design since 2004. His work is incredible, and he has a ton to say about design, creativity and making it all work as a job. We're promised "This tail [sic] includes freedom, graphic arts, independence, fonts, things that are orange, weiner dogs and whatever else pops into his thinker on the big night."

RSVP on Facebook, if you like. Follow the jump to see a video of Draplin explaining how Field Notes came to be.
