SXSW Film Preview: POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold

spurlocknader.jpg Morgan Spurlock (the mind behind Super Size Me and 30 Days) decided to make a documentary about product placement/advertising/marketing in film . . . and financed said film by using product placement/advertising/marketing. It must have worked -- the film premiered at Sundance and was quickly grabbed up by Sony Pictures Classics.

POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold shines a light on the commercial nature of Hollywood while looking at marketing tricks (neuromarketing is indeed a thing!) and the future of product placement. Can a movie be more meta than making a movie about marketing tricks while using same marketing tricks?

POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold screens 4:15pm Sunday, March 13. See the SXSW schedule for more information. The film is slated for wide release in April.
