SXSWi Party Preview: Friday Night's Big Bang Bordello

SXSWi is all about wall-to-wall parties. Sadly, a lot of these parties feature a bunch of dudes in Dockers standing around, earnestly pecking at their BlackBerries and checking-in on Foursquare, while a corporate-approved cover band plays songs that conform to the corporate idea of "fun." This is so very wrong.Luckily, to make up for this cornucopia of non-fun at SXSWi, there are still a smattering of naughty pleasures to be had at the uber-geek festival!

Friday night brings the Steampunk shabang [or geek-pun alert: a shebang #!] Big Bang Bordello.
Headlined by the Flametrick Subs, with sets by That Dammed Band and Luna Tart & The Cocktails, the event will feature a numerous attractions from the more risque side of the entertainment spectrum!

Visual pleasures will be provided by burlesque acts from the Jigglewatts (who recall the heyday of the art form) to The Lollie Bombs to the Fat Bottom Cabaret (for those who appreciate the more luscious female figure). The party will also bring you treats from the 999 Eyes Freakshow, steampunk pleasures from the crew of the Airship Isabella and actual beds --beds!--to lounge on, including one with a photobooth!

If you're lucky, you might snag some free food and drink tickets inside the party.

There is going to be one effing huge line line outside of Emo's, but line entertainment will include a Steampunk Mariachi Band and an Olde Timey Photographer.

This is one of the few parties that's open to non-SXSW badgeholders, so get out our western steampunk look if you wanna to rock the house! Costumes encouraged!
