SXSW Film Preview: Conan O'Brien Can't Stop
One of the World Premiere screenings at SXSW this year is Rodman Flender's documentary Conan O'Brien Can't Stop. After O'Brien's highly publicized parting with NBC, the comedian embarked on the “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour.” This film follows the 32-city tour and is packed with intimate behind-the-scenes footage.
While we understand that there isn't any footage from the Austin stop of the tour included in the film, O'Brien has been confirmed to be attending the premiere, which happens at the Paramount on Sunday night.
In a recent Statesman interview with Flender, the director promises, "It's not a concert movie, and that was never something I wanted to make. I honestly wouldn't know how to make that if asked...I hope you'll see the difference between the opening night and the closing night in this journey across the continent that Conan experiences."
The World Premiere of Conan O'Brien Can't Stop happens on Sunday, March 13 at 1:45pm at the Paramount Theatre. It will have an encore screening at the Paramount on Wednesday, March 16 at 10pm.
