SXSW Film Preview: Little Deaths

A series of Midnight screenings at this year's SXSW festival are yet again handpicked by the Fantastic Fest staff. An anthology film called Little Deaths from the UK will be making its North American Premiere for SXFantastic.

Directed by Sean Hogan (Lie Still), Andrew Parkinson (I, Zombie) and Simon Rumley (Red White & Blue), you can expect three wildly different stories that split the film's 90 minute running time. Their common thread is absolute depravity (and a fair amount of on-screen semen).

In "House and Home," a perverted couple get off on bait-and-switch offers to local homeless girls. They like to invite women into their home under the pretense of offering a free meal and a place to bathe and then tie them up in their basement sex dungeon for the night. Unfortunately for them, their latest victim has other ideas.

The second story is "Mutant Tool," where a shady doctor learns that mutant sperm can be produced into black market drugs -- but not without dangerous side effects.

The movie wraps up with "Bitch," a dark tale of a couple in a seemingly happy sadomasochistic relationship. Inequality quickly turns this into a seriously disturbing act of revenge that you won't soon forget.

Little Deaths plays Friday, March 11 at 11:59pm at Alamo South Lamar, Saturday, March 12 at 11:30pm at Alamo Ritz and Wednesday, March 16 at at 11:59 pm at Alamo Lamar. For the full schedule, go to SXSW.com.
