Remember when you first moved to Austin and you wanted to know where the hotspots were but all you heard about was 6th St between SoCo and Red River? Not that there aren't good times to be had over there, but now that you've been here awhile - or if you're true blue and grew up here - you know that the best places are less obvious, perhaps special only to you thanks to that one great/strange/scary experience you had there. Wherever or whatever it is, Teleportal wants to hear about it.
The brilliant folks at Monofonus's monthly reading series are helping Electric Literature and their super new, super cool audio app Broadcastr make a one-of-kind oral map of our dear city. Now is your chance to be a part of the minds that shape Austin, TX by heading over to Rio Rita with your story that takes place at any location in town to have it recorded and added to a map of Austin. You won't have to read in front of anyone and the first 100 stories get free beer! Stories should be told in three minutes or less and if fictional, pertain to a place in Austin. This is time to tell curious visitors/Austin newbies where the longest stoplight in town is, on which corner you found that awesome piece of furniture or about that time you were caught playing hooky from work at Barton Springs. Let's show 'em that cool is coming at ya from all directions in Austin. Mapping begins at 8PM.
