While the Jester King Craft Brewery has been providing kegs to local pubs since late October or so, they've kept the brewery closed to the public save for a single Austin Beer Week event in the fall. Most of this was logistical: the road to the brewery hadn't been cut, and the owners were so focused on brewing that the tasting room wasn't ready. Tomorrow, that all changes, as Jester King throws a grand opening at their SW Austin brewery at 13005 Fitzhugh Road (take Highway 290 from the Oak Hill Y.)

The brewery will be serving five styles at Saturday's event:

  • Commercial Suicide (English Mild Ale)
  • Whiskey Barrel Commerical Suicide (English Mild Aged In Bourbon Barrels, served in firkins)
  • Wytchmaker (Rye IPA)
  • Black Metal (Imperial Stout)
  • Boxer's Revenge (Farmhouse Ale)

There will also be a photobooth from Austinist favorite Annie Ray, and food from The Happy Hobo, Old School BBQ, and Vasquez Tacos. Brewery tours will run every 90 minutes from 1pm-9pm, and souvenir T-shirts ($15) and glasses/snifters ($10) will be available to purchase. Four live music acts including Melogrand and Rattletree Electric will play over the course of the event.

Jester King's press release notes: "Cash and checks only please. No ATM available. Plenty of free parking. Please carpool and designate a driver. Feel free to bring lawn chairs. Bonfire will be going, but dress warm. Children are welcome but should be supervised at all times."
