Local Author Night at BookPeople [Event Preview]
Sure, Austin is lucky to get all the big-time authors as they cross the country doing the book tour thing, but we're doubly blessed in that we've got plenty of homegrown talent as well. Two of these local literary luminaries, Sidney W. Frost and Jennifer Hritz, will be making appearances this Saturday at BookPeople for the store's Local Author Night.
Frost, who is currently an adjunct professor at ACC, has written Where Love Once Lived, a Christian romance novel which tells the tale of love lost and possibly rekindled. In 2007, the book won first place in both the Inspirational/Spiritual category of the SouthWest Writer's Contest and the Romance category of the Writers' League of Texas Contest.
Jennifer Hritz is no stranger to awards herself, with her latest offering, I, Too, Have Suffered in the Garden having won the Writers' League of Texas Manuscript Contest as well as the Houston Writers Guild Contest. The novel tells the story of Austin couple Adam and Joel and is part of a larger body of work which includes online material developed with East Austin design studio Viewers Like You. Both authors will be on hand to read from, discuss and sign copies of their books.
