Tango Buenos Aires at The Long Center

Tango Buenos Aires
Thursday, January 6
Long Center for Performing Arts (701 W. Riverside Drive)
8 pm, Tickets start at $29

On Thursday, The Long Center presents Tango Buenos Aires, a hard-working dance troupe known for putting on quite a show. We don't know much about tango that we haven't learned from the movies (Moulin Rouge and Strictly Ballroom both give entertaining nods to this dramatic Argentinian dance), so the chance to check out an authentic and passionate group of tango-devotees seems too great an opportunity to miss.

Under the musical direction of Emilio Kauderer, who has worked on a number of award-winning productions including the Latin version of "High School Musical" and the Oscar-winning film The Secret in their Eyes, these nimble-footed world-travelers will surely show us what's what.

  • can't forget Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman.

  • This looks like it would be so much fun to see. Well worth the drive in from Bastrop. We took basic dance lessons so I have a true appreciation for how much hard work goes in to becoming such a talented dance troupe!
