Bubbleface Breakout at Club 1808 Tonight [Show Preview]

Like Fleetwood Mac? How about My Bloody Valentine? What if you threw the music of each band into a blender and proceeded to cut it in half with a buzz saw? While the blender was still running?

Such is the nature of the pop from local noisemakers Bubbleface Breakout. In an age of mash-up gimmickry, Bubbleface Breakout takes combinations of disparate sounds to the next level. Not only do you get cleverly interspersed tidbits of recognizable pop music - you also get swarms of electronic blips, bleeps and buzzes. And just when the chaotic static of it all seems too much, a popular melody, backed by a catchy dance beat, breaks through the noise again.

By extension, Bubbleface Breakout is a combination of experimental noise and party music. The trio of members includes a self-proclaimed "electronic percussionist," as well as a professional Mariachi singer, so the results are bound to be intriguing. Catch Bubbleface Breakout on the East side tonight when they bring their electronic soundplay to Club 1808. Be ready to dance, but also be prepared to get wrapped up in an ear-tickling wall of noise.

Other bands performing this evening include Venison Whirled and Destroyed for Comfort. DJ Bottom Heavy will perform between sets.
