Food: Foreign & Domestic Goes Nuts, Makes It Rain (Truffles) On NYE
Friday, December 31
Foreign + Domestic (306 E. 53rd St.)
$90, 6pm and 9pm (Two Seatings)
[info]
If you're intrigued by the F&D concept, but haven't ventured in, or even if you're a regular, a surprise showed up in our inbox this week in the form of a ridiculous New Year's Eve truffle feast. The menu is a seven course litany of truffle madness, pairing the delicacies with everything from scallops to french fries to Camembert. The menu is a prix-fixe of $90 which includes wine pairings for the courses. Given that the dinner is on New Year's Eve, the holiday amongst holidays for price gouging, the pricing seems astoundingly reasonable for what they're offering up. There are two seatings at 6pm and 9pm, and reservations are being accepted at 512-459-1010 (credit card required).
If you attend the truffle dinner, please write us on Twitter at @austinistfood or return to this piece and let us know how it went in the comments. Happy new year.
