Feeling inspired by all those open studios you visited during the first weekend of E.A.S.T.? The ladies of The Wondercraft (which is currently parked at Starving Art Studios and Gallery), are opening the doors of their mobile craft boutique/workspace with two hands-on events this week: East Side Knit Night and Mustache Mania.

On Tuesday, The Wondercraft is partnering up with Austin's only recycled sweater yarn company, Yarn Harvest, to bring you East Side Knit Night. Instructors will be on hand with yarn and tools to teach knitting neophytes, and more experienced knitters and crocheters can join in with some good old fashioned Stitch n Bitch. All are welcome to enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks provided by St Arnolds, Reel Popcorn, Graham's Texas Tea and Treaty Oak. The first 30 attendees will receive a goody bag packed with gear from Gauge Knits.

Knit Night starts at 5:30, and at 8:30, there will be a screening of Handmade Nation - last year's documentary by Faythe Levine about the rise of the DIY revolution in America.

If you can't make it out on Tuesday to throw down some stitches, head over to the Wondercraft on Thursday for Mustache Mania. Learn how to stencil a pint glass with your favorite mustache shape (we prefer a classic Burt Reynolds) or make a 'stache on a stick. At 7:00 PM, you can also catch a special screening of Art School Confidential at the onsite Bluelite Drive-In. All this hairy business is for a good cause - this is an official Mowvember event. Mustache Mania is free, but they will be taking donations for cancer research (specifically benefiting Livestrong and the Prostate Cancer Foundation).

For more information on either event, check out their respective Facebook pages: East Side Knit Night and Mustache Mania.
