Why We Don't Like You: Oklahoma State Cowboys

Each week, we'll look at some reasons to taunt, belittle, and bully the Longhorns' football opponent. This week: the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

You're Suspended, Olbermann-Style: Standout wide receiver Justin Blackmon was arrested for DUI in late October while coming back from a Dallas Cowboys' game. The 20-year-old Blackmon was clocked doing 92 - plenty clear of the 60 mph speed limit - at 3:45 in the morning. OSU Coach Mike Gundy really brought the hammer down on his star, suspending him for one game, assuring he'd be back in time for matchups against Big 12 South opponents Baylor and Texas.

This Beer's On You: This summer, things got heated in a Stillwater bar and defensive end Jamie Blatnick cracked former teammate Steve Denning in the face with a beer bottle (nice mug shot). Once again, Sheriff Gundy was strict with the punishment, holding Blatnick out of practice until he plead guilty to a reduced charge.

No More Drama: Much of the Cowboys' success this year stems from the hiring of offensive coordinator Dana Holgerson, whose up-tempo style has allowed OSU to put up more than 700 yards of offense twice this season. On the downside, Holgerson has shown a dreary talent for handing out snappy nicknames, calling freshman quarterback Johnny Deaton "Johnny Drama" (does anyone watch Entourage any more?), Josh Cooper is "Seth Rogen" for his resemblance to the actor, and wide receiver Colton Chelf is "Evil Elf".
