Austin's Green Gate Farm will play host this Saturday to the first annual Hoedown for a Heifer. The hootenanny -- which will feature local bands like Dark Water Hymnal, Atomic Duo and Sour Bridges -- kicks off at noon.

Raffle prizes are available with the proceeds going to Heifer International, a non-profit organization that seeks to end hunger by providing communities with livestock that promotes self-reliance and sufficiency. Prizes include donations by Alamo Drafthouse, the Highball and Progress Coffee, among others.

In addition to booze, make sure to bring a blanket and a dish for what organizers hope to be the biggest pot-luck ever.
