Hammers, Andy Rihn, more at the Monofonus Press Compound
Wednesday, November 10th and Saturday, November 13th
Monofonus Compound (610 Vermont Rd.)
$5 or a Hammer and a Promise, 8pm
[info]
Pending your $5 bill or, in their words, contributory “hammer and a promise,” Monofonus Press (Austin-based record label & multimedia org) requests your attendence this Wednesday (Nov. 10th) and/or Saturday (Nov. 13th) for a celebratory two-day installation/party to mark the release of its own Andy Rihn's first book, “The Tiger’s Last Tooth.” Either token of admittance also gets you a book & CD and, yes, access to “tattoos, breadsnakes,” and some always-clutch Ambhar Tequila.
For the two-part party itself, Monofonus has given Rihn free reign to bedeck its east-Austin compound however he sees fit, so expect the place to be draped in all manner of art and installation characteristic of Rihn’s decidedly unique “Southern psychedelic artmanship.” If you’re unfamiliar with Rihn’s work (or otherwise inclined), check out a small sampling by flipping through a definitely cool Flash plugin featuring the full text of “The Tiger’s Last Tooth” here.
