Take Back Your 'Sanity', Austin [Politics]
Local grassroots group “Restore Sanity Austin” announced a joint effort with Rock the Vote to organize a “Rally to Restore Sanity” in Texas.
The rally will be held on the South steps of the Texas Capitol, Saturday, October 30, from 11AM to 2PM.
It follows the lead of Jon Stewart's (host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show) national rally in Washington, DC. Organizers plan for it run concurrently with Stewart's, in response to Glenn Beck's 'Restoring Honor' rally held on August 28 on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
Other satellite rallies are being planned in Seattle, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
