Austin, Unscripted: National Trust for Historic Preservation Wants To Hear From You! [#atxunscripted]
Our friends at the National Trust for Historic Preservation are coming into town this weekend for their annual National Preservation Conference, and while here they're running a nifty project that they'd love you to take part in.
The trust, which is all about "bringing people together to protect, enhance, and enjoy the places that matter to them," will be shooting a documentary entitled Austin Unscripted. They're asking Austinites to come out to any of a dozen meet-ups they're hosting around town—everywhere from the Farmer's Market at Republic Square Park to Wheatsville to Cheer Up Charlie's—and simply speak your mind on camera. What places define Austin? What do you want our future to look like? Answers to these questions and more are welcome.
"The reason why Austinites should join us is simple -- this is their city," said Jason Clement, Online Content Provider for the Trust. "That's important because where you live has a profound effect on how you live. Austin Unscripted will be an opportunity for folks in the 512 to go on record about the places that define their Austin experience."
"The reality is that all cities change and grow. However, as this city moves forward with its comprehensive plan, we hope these candid interviews will show how historic preservation can go a long way in keeping Austin weird."
Austin Unscripted runs from Friday October 22nd through Monday. For a full list of the meet-up schedule, check out the official site. You can also print out the pdf here.
