Cupcakes will be flowing like wine -- or at least rolling out of the kitchen pretty darn quick -- at Sugar Mama's Bakeshop this Sunday from 2-5 pm. That's when the family-owned bakeshop on South 1st celebrates its two year anniversary. You are cordially invited to partake in the birthday festivities, which include cupcakes on the house!

In Sugar Mama's oven right this moment are cupcake varieties like The Odd Couple, a rich moist Valrhona chocolate cupcake topped with swirled housemade salted caramel and vanilla cream cheese frosting. Right nearby are a few (baked) Margaritas -- vegan lime and tequila cupcakes with a lime buttercream topping. Come Sunday, you can expect to sample these and other special seasonal flavors like The Great Punkin (which likely contains pumpkin and/or punks).

Sugar Mama's has been reporting that all these birthday cupcakes will be served a la mode. In other words, there will be free NadaMoo ice cream available at their party. That's in addition to complimentary champagne cocktails courtesy of Live Oak and Tito's Vodka. Another plus: live music from Lincoln Durham, and face painting for kids and adults.

Attendees of the Sugar Mama's free birthday event will also be able to buy tickets to launch cupcakes from the Cupcake Cannon, which debuted at the most recent Cupcake Smackdown this past August.

Ticket sales from the Cupcake Cannon will go to Austin Pets Alive! and Keep Austin Dog Friendly, two of Sugar Mama's favorite organizations. Those who successfully hit a designated target will be eligible to win gift cards donated from a number of local businesses like Austin Java, Frank, Toy Joy and The Soup Peddler.
