AIDS Walk Austin Is Sunday
This Sunday, lace up your walking shoes and put your feet down to help stop the spread of HIV and provide care for our neighbors through AIDS Walk Austin. The Walk, which starts at 1:30 p.m. at Austin City Hall, is the annual community-wide awareness event and fundraiser for Austin’s AIDS service organizations, and is organized by AIDS Services of Austin. Pets are welcome, and free parking is available in the City Hall parking garage.
Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron will serve as National Honorary Chair of AIDS Walk Austin 2010 and will speak on Sunday during the opening ceremonies. The Walk officially "steps off" at 2:00 pm.
AIDS Walk Austin benefits AIDS Services of Austin and 10 other area organizations addressing the epidemic in our community. Founded in 1987, AIDS Services of Austin is the region’s oldest and largest community-based organization addressing the local AIDS crisis. Annually, they provide direct care services to over 1,500 people and HIV prevention education to over 10,000 people. You can register or donate towards a team online.
