(Another) Happy Hour of the Week: Half Price on the Paggi House Patio
Known for its elegant American fare, Paggi House discounts its bar menu by 50% between 5pm and 7pm Monday through Saturday (even Saturday!). This means more than 20 high-quality wines plus specialty cocktails and bar snacks for a steal. Enjoy bruschetta with goat milk ricotta, andouille mussels with perfectly seasoned crispy fries, a strawberry mojito, and a glass of sangria on Paggi House's expansive, shady patio for a grand total of about 20 bucks.
Other highlights from the drink menu include the fresh cucumber margarita with a dash of cayenne and a French 76 that might be the best in town -- both just $4 each during happy hour. Wine drinkers can enjoy choice selections from Spain, Italy, Chile, New Zealand, and France for between $4.50 and $9 per glass. You can't go wrong with any of the snacks, which range from $2.50 to $7 and include options like seafood potstickers and a cheese plate punctuated with candied nuts and honey. Don't be afraid to try the roasted shishito peppers -- a mild, tender Japanese pepper flavored with "fleur de sel" (basically a really fancy sea salt).
Where: Paggi House, 200 Lee Barton Drive
When: Monday - Saturday, 5pm to 7pm
Drinks: $3 - $9
Food: $2.50 - $7
(Tip: If you have never golfed before, spend your Saturday afternoon across the street at the Butler Park Pitch & Putt before you hit up happy hour. You won't regret it.)
