WilCo GOP Spends Millions On Donuts? [Politics]

Earlier this week, the Williamson County Republican Party’s most recent finance report seemed to finally prove what some folks in Travis County have long suspected: that WilCo Republicans are very well-funded, and they’ve got one hell of an appetite.

In the report, the local political group reported spending $5,272,010 at longtime yellow pastry institution Round Rock Donuts, and an additional $9,082,010 at an area Applebee’s.

As it turns out, both expenditures represent the purchase dates—5/27/2010 and 9/8/2010—rather than the actual amounts, which were much more reasonable. Volunteer Treasurer Jon Jewett explained that the misrepresentations were a result of clerical errors, and is in the process of sending a corrected version of the report to the Texas Ethics Commission.
