It's the last night before ACL thunders into town, bringing with it rafts of concert-goers and record execs. Whether you're partaking of the madness or not, there are plenty of pre- and post-festival shows worth attending (maybe you heard that some band called The Strokes played last night?) There will be plenty of good music around town tonight, but perhaps the best bill is at La Zona Rosa, where Neon Indian and Prefuse 73 will play, with Miniature Tigers to open.
Connoisseurs of chill Neon Indian made waves (har!) last year with their debut LP, Psychic Chasms, a lo-fi, synth-laden, hazy-textured gem that featured the popular singles "Should've Taken Acid With You," "Deadbeat Summer" and "Terminally Chill". The music began as a solo project of frontman Alan Palomo, but later expanded to the four-piece it is today: guitarist Ronnie Gierhart, synth player Leanne Macomber and drummer Jason Faries accompany Palomo, who sings and plays Theremin and synth.
