Food: TRIO Extends Restaurant Week Promo (+ Offers Free Wine)

If you've ever felt that spending time at the Four Seasons was out of reach, you've likely never been to TRIO. Long a favorite of the in-the-know foodie crowd, the restaurant's generous happy hour (it runs on Fridays and Saturdays) and frequently updated by-the-glass wine list are a great way to feel elegant while working with a moderate dining budget.

This fall, TRIO has two intriguing promotions running. The first is a no brainer: there's free wine available. To celebrate their sommelier Mark Sayre's inclusion on the Wine and Spirits list of the "7 Best New Sommeliers in 2010," the restaurant is offering patrons a free glass of Syrah. Simply print the certificate found here and stop by. Yes, there is really free wine waiting for you at the Four Seasons.

If food trumps wine for you, there's another item of note: TRIO is extending their Restaurant Week pricing of $35 for a three course menu...provided that you stop by early in the evening. From 5:30-6:30pm daily, the "Early Dinner Prix Fixe" includes an appetizer choice of: Beet Salad with Stilton, Pickled Red Onion, and Candied Pecans; Prince Edward Island Mussels with Chorizo, Almonds, and Sherry; and Wild Salmon Gravlax with
Horseradish, Cheese Bread, and Cucumber. Entree choices are: Basil-Roasted Red Snapper, Free-Range Natural Roasted Chicken, and Brown Butter Ribeye Filet. We'll let you dig for their side dishes and desserts, but suffice to say, this is a nice deal on high-end dining downtown, and makes for a great date night.

If you do make the trip to TRIO, we highly recommend by-the-glass offerings from Paraiso, Chappellet, Amavi, and Baileyana if they happen to be on the menu. For reservations, hit OpenTable here.
