It's the first day of October, the weather is beautiful, and we are in a mood to celebrate. Fall in Austin means tailgate parties, ACL Fest, Art Outside, Fun Fun Fun Fest, East Austin Studio Tour, and many other fantastic opportunities to enjoy our culturally rich and climatically temperate autumn. The Blanton is marking the season of change with an opening reception for a new exhibit, Turner to Monet: Masterpieces from The Walters Art Museum. The show will feature forty paintings from 19th century master painters and Impressionists like Claude Money, Edgar Degas, and Gilbert Stuart. The Blanton has also put together an exhibition of some of their permanent collection; Repartee will feature prints and drawings from 19th century artists to compliment the works in Turner to Monet.

The Blanton will be open tonight for their bi-monthly art party, B scene and the garnd opening of the new exhibit. Stop by the museum between 6pm and 10:30pm to tour the exhibit and enjoy snacks, activities, music by Black Book Angel, a cash bar featuring drinks created by the crew at Justine's Brasserie. The Blanton's cafe will be serving a special menu of tapas paired with wine until 9pm. Tickets to B scene cost $5 for Blanton Museum members and $12 for the general public.
