Rest assured this isn’t your daddy’s disco. Flying Turns heat up the dance floor with seven DJs alternating on four turntables. Named after a tripped out post-punk-meets-disco song by Crash Course in Science, this crafty crew includes local dance-inducers J Edgar Groover, Phillip Bluntly, DJ Mike ZZ, Bink, Mos Jef, DJB Hiney and Sweet DJG. Tonight these like minded disco DJs are busting out their vinyl collection at Cheer Up Charlies.

Known for spinning house and disco, Flying Turns are guaranteed to get you dancing. You won’t hear “YMCA,” but rather Jacques Renault, Arthur Russel, Cerrone, Sylvester and remixes of James Brown, Prince and Bjork. Flying Turns specialize in inventive stylings by way of infectious high-energy house tracks and golden era disco. Their inventive approach offers a laid back house party vibe that will turn Cheer Up Charlies into a underground disco dance-off where everyone is invited to get on down.
