It was announced yesterday afternoon that there was no second suspect in yesterday's shooting on the UT campus and the only victim was the shooter himself, 19-year-old student Colton Tooley. He reportedly didn't aim any shots at others, but fired multiple times outside near Littlefield Fountain before campus police chased him into the Perry Casteneda Library (PCL) where he later shot himself [see the Statesman map of his movements].

Authorities are still trying to piece together what led Tooley to bring an AK-47 to campus. The South Austin house he lived in with his parents was searched yesterday evening.

Classes resumed at UT this morning and the PCL is open -- except for the sixth floor which remains closed to the public. The campus police have been praised by many for their response during the incident yesterday. UT's emergency warning system is also receiving positive reviews for the quick alerts after the first reports of shooting on campus.

The Texas Tribune has an audio slideshow up of on-campus reaction to yesterday's events.
